SR20VE Dynamometer measured - 186 EHP

August 2005

The Dyno at Slark Engineering in Wiltshire is a 2003 model SUN road, it's accurate and largely automated. It calculates the trnsmission loss based on slow-down resistance at over-run, sets a corrected horsepower factor for comparative testing and plots power and torque to the computer screen and printer.

We made two runs which you can see detailed below. The cam switching points are added. The current state of tune is as follows:

Standard SR20VE motor, Thermoblock spacers, NGK Iridium Spark plugs, standard intake tract with K&N panel filter & ram air feed, PathFinder MAF, SR16VE ecu with rev limter removed and MSS for cam switching, Fujitsubo Exhaust Manifold, Mandrel Bent 2" diameter stainless steel exhaust system.

Always a little disappointed to see the actual outputs but it's a solid and reliable motor. I note thaty theres quite a drop-off in torque with the exhaust cam coming in at 5100 and I'm looking to move it out to 5,600 or so.

You can watch, well listen to the videos lower down on the page ( I apologize for the background roller noise)

December 2006 Dyno Run

Standard SR20VE motor, Thermoblock spacers, NGK Iridium Spark plugs 1mm gap, NGK R09 spark leads, standard intake tract with K&N panel filter & ram air feed, PathFinder MAF, SR16VE ecu and MSS for cam switching, Fujitsubo Exhaust Manifold, Mandrel Bent 2" diameter stainless steel exhaust system, Piggyback computer for Lean Air Fuel Correction.

You can see two runs here and some impressive low-down torque improvements over previos setup.
